Good Speech Sarah now talk to the media!!!

I have to admit I was impressed by Ms. Palin's speech, not as much as the rest of the media but she gave a good speech. It did not deal with a great deal of substance but how can it she has only been on the National stage for a week and her foreign policy credentials are limited if any. So when will the McCain folks release her to the media pit bulls?

Tonight Mr. Obama goes into dangerous territory and will be interviewed by Bill O'Reiley, besides the debates this will be his toughest forum. He has to do well, one slip and you will see it all over you tube and the news.

So both novice candidates have something to prove the question is who will do it better.

Being a witness to history.

I have spent most of my life reading about history it is one of my favorite subject. Each time I have asked myself I wonder what it was like to be there. Well this time I do not have to ask because this time I am here. When the roll call for President went up in the convention center I was not prepared for my emotions to come out, but when the Mississippi delegation cast their vote and the presenter mentioned Fannie Lou Hammer I just started crying. It was not that long ago when Ms. Hammer had to fight her way into the convention and said the famous words " I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. "

Therefore the fact that we nominated today an African American goes beyond the wildest dreams of many of us. I wonder is that what Dr. King meant when he said I have been to the mountain top and I have seen the promised land. Did he know that this was the mountaintop? I am not sure perhaps he knew that the mountain top was in reach.

Where you at Sistagirl?

I know I know it has been a while since I blogged and there has been so much to blog about. Right now I am preparing to attend the Democratic National Convention and I could not be happier. Mr. Obama is running a wonderful campaign, and Mr. McCain is hitting below the belt. As John Kerry stated on Meet the Press last Sunday the Republicans know they cannot run on issues so they want to kill Obama's character. Mr. Liberman and Governor Pawlenty said the everyone should just lighten up and understand the joke about Paris and Britanny. But my question is who should lighten up? The thousands of people who have lost their jobs this year? Or perhaps the ones who have lost their homes? What about the people who have lost loved ones in Iraq? Or the people who do not have health care?

This is the problem with the Republicans, they care for the rich and when you are rich you have time to laugh and joke with your rich friends. Well some of us need some help and we do not have time to laugh. We are in a recession and it is not a joke. So Mr. McCain you go ahead and laugh your ass off but we will see in November who has the last laugh.

Kudos to Hillary

Althougth I am an Obama supporter I give kudos to Mrs. Clinton, she had a great run despite the snags in the campaign she earned 18 million voters and paved the way for women everywhere to run for the highest office.

I think many people today saw Hillary in a different light and I believe she has learned from her mistakes.

It is time to unite the party and take back the White House.

The Big Endorsement

When you watched John Edwards over the last few days, you got a sense that he was on the verge of endorsing Obama but something made him stop. Many people said it was his wife (who really likes Hillary's health care plan) or perhaps he wanted to stay neutral in order to help out later on at the convention. What ever the reason he came out today in Michigan and enthusiastically support Mr. Obama. Although all of this is happening it seems that Hillary is not going anywhere, as she told Wolf Blitzer she is in it until the end. My hope is that Mrs. Clinton does not make this ugly and that she goes out with grace and dignity. I hope that she campaigns hard for Mr. Obama and tells her supporters that he really is the best candidate.

There is one problem all year she has been telling people that he is not qualified, that she and McCain have the experience but Obama does not.

Funny how sometimes you have to be careful what you say because many times it can come back to bite you.

I love you Hillary but you got to GOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I have always liked Hillary a lot more than I liked Bill. I never called him the first black president and felt that he got a lot more credit than he deserved. But as much as I love Mrs. Clinton the time has come for her to pack her bags and prepare to become the next Governor of NYC. Barak Obama has won more states, more delegates and more of the popular vote. I know that Hillary felt this was her time but one thing we know there are no sure things in politics especially this year.

I have to be honest I really think if Obama were a seasoned White politician Hillary would have dropped out a long time ago. Mrs. Clinton does not feel that he belongs there because of his youth and his race and Bill Richardson said she feels a sense of entitlement.

But the handwriting is on the wall and she should leave the race with dignity and grace and get behind Obama. She should do it for herself, for the Democratic party and for the country.
