Where you at Sistagirl?

I know I know it has been a while since I blogged and there has been so much to blog about. Right now I am preparing to attend the Democratic National Convention and I could not be happier. Mr. Obama is running a wonderful campaign, and Mr. McCain is hitting below the belt. As John Kerry stated on Meet the Press last Sunday the Republicans know they cannot run on issues so they want to kill Obama's character. Mr. Liberman and Governor Pawlenty said the everyone should just lighten up and understand the joke about Paris and Britanny. But my question is who should lighten up? The thousands of people who have lost their jobs this year? Or perhaps the ones who have lost their homes? What about the people who have lost loved ones in Iraq? Or the people who do not have health care?

This is the problem with the Republicans, they care for the rich and when you are rich you have time to laugh and joke with your rich friends. Well some of us need some help and we do not have time to laugh. We are in a recession and it is not a joke. So Mr. McCain you go ahead and laugh your ass off but we will see in November who has the last laugh.

I still love Jesse!!!!!!!!!!!

I think everyone has moved on regarding the crude Jesse Jackson made on Fox news last week. I watched and listened as pundits and everyday people asked the question if Jesse's time has come and gone, if Jesse made the comments on purpose or if he was jealous of Senator Obama.

I am not going to spend time speculating on any of this but I do know this Jesse Jackson has done so much for the black community. Despite his short comings he deserves respect and should get it.

Do not judge someone by a few mistakes but by his overall actions.

Love ya Jesse!!!!!!!!!!!

Patriotism

There are many things I love, my God my family friends and
my country. This is something that I do not have to prove to anybody
and I express it in different ways. I may not wear a flag pin but nobody
should ever question my love for the good old USA.
Before u question someones patriotism ask yourself what have you
done for this country lately.

When I grow up I want to be Michelle Obama

Ok ok will admit it I am jelous of Michelle Obama. I mean she has it all, a handsome and sucessful husband, charming kids, wonderful career and if all goes well she will be the first African American First Lady. So it is so interesting to me that the GOP has chosen to attack this well acomplished woman.

One of the themes of the GOP is "people pulling themselves up by thier own bootstraps" and limiting govenment handouts. So instead of putting this woman down they should be lifting her up and using her as an example to young women everywhere.

I guess when your party has almost destroyed America you will climb into whatever gutter you have to in order to win, and that is why in Novemeber they will loose.

Good Bye Mr. Russet

I have to admit to many who may not know that I am a political junkie. As many of my friends know I could talk about politics everyday all day Therefore it is not shocking that Sunday morning is my favorite time of the week. My tivo tapes Fox News Sunday, then This Week on ABC and finally Meet the Press. Now my Sundays will not be the same becuase Mr. Russert will not be there and his pressence will be sorely missed.
What I appreciate about the coverage on Tim Russet is the respect and love his collegues had for him. They spoke about him as a son, father, mentor and friend. That is really the true testament of a good person and what each of our legacys should be.
Mr. Russet may God bless your memory, you will be sorely missed.
